Sustainable Wales Ethical Feast, Porthcawl
Slip on your suits and grab your gowns!
Sustainable Wales, is hosting its annual Ethical Feast on Thursday, December 13th, at the Atlantic Hotel, Porthcawl overlooking the beautiful coastline. Reception 7.30pm, followed by a delectable four-course meal.
The chefs will use the finest Fairtrade, organic and local ingredients, to cook-up a culinary storm – this is one Christmas glutton-fest you don’t have to feel guilty about!
“Once a year we like to create an elegant evening out for Sustainable Wales’ friends, supporters and well-wishers. Creating a five-star meal from ethical ingredients is not only a great showcase for the public, but also an exciting challenge for the chefs!”, said Margaret Minhinnick, Sustainable Wales’ Director.
Last year’s meal provided a true tour-de-force from the chefs; and we hope that you’ll join us to make this year’s festivities even more enjoyable.
Tickets are priced at £27.50, with all profits going to Sustainable Wales.

Safari 6, tabs and Fitt's Law
Since the introduction of version 6 of Safari the tabs behave somewhat differently. A single tab will now extend across the entire width of the browser window apart from a small portion to the right which contains the " + " symbol to open a new tab. As successive tabs are added they occupy the largest space and keep the " + " target small. This breaks Fitt's law which is a shame. Particularly annoying, as the previous approach left the largest space to the right of the active tab and therefore the largest possible target to click and generate a new tab.

Clueless Dogs by Rhian Edwards
Rhian Edwards is the winner of the 2011 John Tripp Award for Spoken Poetry and Audience Prize 2011“An astounding Welsh poet with performances that get you in the emotional gut…” – Ian McMillan on The Verb, Radio 3.Clueless Dogs is the first collection of poetry by Rhian Edwards. Already a noted performer of both her songs and poetry, this book confirms her startling talent.Poems like ‘The Welshman Who Couldn’t Sing’ chronicle a fraught childhood in Bridgend, south Wales, where the sensitive child escapes through imaginative games of ‘Playing Dead’ and ‘Broken Lifeboat’. Full of verve and humour, with a spiky syntax featuring hard-edged consonants, her language has a winning honesty and intensity. Later poems chronicle teenage lusts, student rivalries, damaged peers and tense situations. Although the author doesn’t flinch from ruthless depictions in which we are often implicated by her use of the second person ‘You’, there is an underlying sweetness, an elegiac thread most evident in the poems of maturity, like ‘Back to Bed’ ,’Safe’ ,’The Wrong Season’ full of both the sensual rapture of love and a clear-eyed realization of its inevitable disappointments. Witness the poet in performance and it is impossible not to hear her distinctive tones when reading her work. Clueless Dogs is a brave and beautiful first book.

Thoughtful doc on art today
The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent in an unprecedented way, with unlimited opportunities.
But does democratized culture mean better art or is true talent instead drowned out? This is the question addressed by PressPausePlay, a documentary film containing interviews with some of the world's most influential creators of the digital era. presspauseplay.com @presspauseplay Facebook: on.fb.me/y4gEK1
